Since November 29 one of Disneyland Paris’ main attractions has been closed for a long-term renovation. It’s a Small World, one of the opening-day attractions, now joins a long list of rides that have been closed for lengthy renovations at the French Disney-resort.

Unlike with other renovations at the park, Disney now has decided to sell some of the debris as souvenirs, rather than to throw it away. Starting next week, 10 by 10 cm cubes of pure asbestos will be sold at the Emporium gift shop near the park entrance. The asbestos was originally part of the main show building which houses the dark ride.

“This product is a one of a kind limited edition piece of Disneyland Paris history,” explains merchandise & retail communications coordinator Ettiene Moisy during the latest Pass Annuel Showtime. “In addition to this collectible item, we will also be selling many broken animatronic parts and old light bulbs.”

Prices for the smaller objects range from 200 to 500 euros. The asbestos cubes will go for 999 euros a piece, making them just a bit cheaper than day-tickets for the park. Lineberty reservations are mandatory and there will be a limit of 10 items per transaction. eBay listings for the products can already be found online.
