On April 2nd Walibi Holland reopened after the winter stop and with it they presented the newly rethemed Zero Zone. Now, just over a week after the reopening, the Zero Zone has already been vandalised.

The day started normally for Scott Bravenboer, producer, presenter, entertainer, secretary, restroom cleaner and former ride operator at Walibi Holland. “After eating my daily sandwich with hagelslag and drinking my morning apple juice, I went on my way to work. After arriving I immediately noticed something was off” he says. “The lack of colour and dizzying patterns really stood out.”

After investigating further, Bravenboer noticed that all the newly applied paint in the Zero Zone had been removed by vandals. “All of the new crazy leipe theming is gone, there’s nothing left” he says. “All that’s left are these atmospheric western buildings. This does not belong in a family friendly theme park.”

Bravenboer has already taken action to bring back his beloved Zero Zone: together with director Mascha Taminiau he is repainting every single surface of the area. People wanting to see a decent themed area at Walibi Holland have about 7 months before Bravenboer and Taminiau are finished with the paint job.
